TRIPLE THREAT FOR PARKER TRANSPORT RACING
Parker Transport Racing will have a three-pronged attack at this year’s Isle of Man TT Races with the Manx pairing of Ryan and Jamie Cringle joined at the Northern Ireland-based team by Italian Andrea Majola.
All three riders will campaign Yamaha YZF-R6 machinery in the two Monster Energy Supersport TT races with 2024 Junior Manx Grand Prix winner Majola also contesting the RST Superbike TT, Milwaukee Senior TT and RL360/PE Superstock TT races on a Yamaha YZF-R1.
Douglas siblings Ryan and Jamie rode for the Ballycastle-based outfit at the event last year and although delays to the programme meant they only got to compete in the opening four-lap Supersport encounter, the team having to return to Northern Ireland prior to the second race, the duo made a more than favourable impression.
It was Ryan, in his second year of competition around the Mountain Course, that claimed the bragging rights in the Cringle household as a quickest lap of 123.445mph helped him claim a fine 17th place at the chequered flag. The result should see him amongst the seeded riders in 2025.
Jamie, meanwhile, finished in 29th place, also winning a bronze replica, as he too set a new personal best Supersport lap with a speed of 120.979mph so both riders will be again pushing for top 20 finishes in June.
For Majola, it will be his first taste of TT action having competed with flying colours at the Manx Grand Prix since 2019. Focusing on the Junior class, the 34-year old from Liguria took a superb fourth on his debut, a result he matched in 2022. However, after taking a close second to fellow Paton rider Victor Lopez in 2023, he finally took the top spot last year.
With a personal best lap on the Junior machine of 116.324mph, a move to the 1000cc and 600cc races should see Majola comfortably improve on that and become the latest Italian rider to make his mark at the TT.
Speaking about their 2025 plans, team owner Gerry Parker commented: “We were really impressed with Jamie and Ryan’s performances at last year’s TT, setting their personal best Supersport lap times and we know they are very capable riders, so we’re delighted to have them on board again. They’re two fantastic riders with an abundance of skill and are great people to work with too so we’ll hopefully help them move further up the leaderboard in 2025.”
“Ryan really impressed us last year bringing home a top 16 position in our first TT whilst Jamie will get lots more track time and experience this year as he will make his debut at the North West 200 and, all being well, a few short circuit meetings throughout the year.”
“With regards to Andrea, we travelled to the Manx Grand Prix last year as spectators and we watched him riding really well, even with the weather against him. He went on to win and pull away from the rest of the field and we think he is a very fit and capable rider who is perfect for our team. He’ll also be Yamaha mounted for the two Supersport races and we’re building him a new R1 Yamaha for the 1000cc races at the TT so we can’t wait to see him on our machinery.”
