TAXI TRAVEL
The Isle of Man has a number of taxi companies operating around the Island. Whilst there are taxi ranks located around the Island, the TT is extremely busy time, so for journeys you know in advance, it’s always better to book ahead. Taxi ranks can be found in the centre of Douglas for post-night out taxis, on Victoria Street and Barrack Street.
ISLE OF MAN AIRPORT AND SEA TERMINAL TAXIS
The main taxi ranks in the Island are at the principal ports of the Isle of Man Airport and Steam Packet Sea Terminal. Both situated outside the front of the buildings, these journeys are covered by fixed tariff charges so you know exactly what you’ll pay for the journey before you embark upon it.
Taxis tend to be available at the rank to coincide with the flights and ferries coming in to the Island, but as it’s busy, be prepared to ride share with someone else going in the same direction. You might meet another TT fan!
ISLE OF MAN TAXI BOOKING
There are over 50 taxi firms across the Island that you can call to collect you immediately or for pre-booking. Click here for a handy directory.
You should choose your taxi firm on both the location you want collecting from and the location you want to go to. If one firm can’t take you, they will most likely provide you with an alternative option.
Always check when booking your taxi how you will pay the fare. Some taxis are cash only.
It’s important to note, taxi services like Uber and Lyft don’t operate on the Island, and there is no similar app alternative, although some individual companies offer a similar service.
