RADIO TT
Good news for Radiophiles. Radio TT returns to the airwaves for the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races, with full live coverage of every qualifying session and every race.
What’s more, our radio team will have near-complete and continuous oversight of the whole course thanks to the live television feed.
Boasting instant access to round-the-course visuals – as well as split-second data via live timing and rider tracking – Radio TT’s race commentary allows you to keep abreast of all the notable performances throughout the entire leaderboard, bringing you all the action and reaction the second it happens – no matter where it happens.
LEE JOHNSTON JOINS 2024 RADIO TT COMMENTARY TEAM
Stepping away from the nerve-shredding action on the TT Mountain Course, Radio TT also promises to immerse you in the races further than ever before with an expanded line-up of pundits and experts delving deep into the paddock to bring you all of the latest news, stories and developments.
Radio TT is available across the island on the AM and FM frequencies. You can also listen via the PA system at twenty-four of the most popular locations around the Mountain Course, including the Grandstand and Fan Park.
If you’re listening around the Course or from off-island, you can also tune in to Radio TT on-line via the TT Live Timing service.
YOUR PRESENTING TEAM
Stepping into the prestigious lead commentator role for Radio TT in 2024 is seasoned motorsport commentator, Chris Boyde. A household name to many and previous chief analyst, Chris has an unrivalled knowledge of the facts and figures that are so important in telling the story of a race against the clock.
Armed with more real-time data than ever before, Chris will be able to pull out all the developing stories as they happen.
PREVIOUS CHIEF ANALYST CHRIS BOYDE STEPS-UP AS LEAD COMMENTATOR
Joining Chris this year will be one of the TT’s most loved characters, Lee Johnston. Whilst he’s disappointed to not be riding this year due to injuries sustained earlier in the season, he’s no stranger to the radio commentary box. Following on from previous guest appearances, Johnston is set to bring an insider perspective to his co-commentator role.
Radio TT wouldn’t be complete without the daily reporting from the paddock, parc ferme or pit lane, and Isle of Man radio personalities, Chris Kinley and Beth Espey, continue as roving reporters on the ground for 2023.
Chris needs little introduction to road race fans, having covered the TT – as well as numerous other events – since 2003. Beth was a new voice to race fans in 2022 and her engaging interview style quickly endeared her to listeners and paddock personnel alike.
CHRIS KINLEY WILL BE REPORTING ALL THE ACTION FROM ON THE GROUND
The two reporters on the ground will be ably supported by a trio of expert pundits: Jenny Tinmouth, Patrick Farrance and Tom Birchall.
Despite not racing at the TT for over a decade, Jenny remains a firm favourite here on the Island, and holds two world records thanks to her achievements at the TT. Today the former factory Honda rider splits her time between building and racing bikes with her work as a stunt rider on the big screen, using her skills on a motorcycle to provide some edge-of-your seat excitement to a number of blockbuster movies.
Patrick is no stranger to Radio TT, having made his presenting debut on Radio TT in 2022. He'll be sharing mic duties with brand new to broadcast duties Tom Birchall who has taken on the new role following his retirement. The two will provide invaluable insight into the minds of TT competitors.
