SPORTBIKE
Having been on the race schedule since 2012, the Supertwin class has been revised in 2026 to allow Sportbike specification machines to compete for the first time. Like the Supersport class, this move reflects the wider development of the Sportbike class internationally and its adoption in the World and British Superbike Championship.
Both Supertwin and Sportbike machines are derived from middleweight road going motorcycles, turned into racing machines by tuners and engineers with extensive performance adaptations for the Mountain Course. Output is now around the 100-110bhp mark with aerodynamics and high cornering speed key.
Current TT Supertwin machines will remain eligible to compete in 2026 so that means existing machines such as the Paton S1-R, Aprilia RS660, Kawasaki Z650 and Yamaha R7 will now be joined by the Triumph Daytona 660 and Suzuki GSX8R as well. The Chinese CFMoto 675SR-R will also be eligible under the new rules.
