Michael Rutter and Chris Pritchard Getting Around

GETTING AROUND THE ISLE OF MAN

The Island is fascinating and there is plenty to see when you’re not planted at the side of the TT course. Whether you’re travelling to sight-see, or travelling to get your favourite spot on the course, there’s plenty of options for you to get around.

TT Travel by Bus

The local bus company, Bus Vannin offers services from early in the morning to late at night, around nearly all of the Island, with the TT course very well serviced. The TT race day services allow drop off to some of the best racing vantage points, as well as easy access to the best TT entertainment during the evenings. You can purchase single tickets on the bus, or get a Go-Card which reduces the price per journey.

TT Travel by Train

Our railways, whilst a form of heritage transport, are ideal for getting to some very exciting parts of the TT course, including Ramsey and the Bungalow. When there’s no racing on, the electric and steam railways both allow sightseeing around the South and East of the Island and are a great way of getting to know the Island we love. Like the buses, you can purchase a single ticket on board or at the ticket office, or you can use a Go-Card to get a reduced fare.

TT Travel by Taxi

Available mostly on a booking service, there are a number of companies that will drop you wherever you want to go across the TT fortnight, at any time of the day or night. Ideal for getting you to and from the airport or ferry terminal and your accommodation, or back to your bed after a night of celebrating the racing, our taxis are clean, comfy and efficient.

TT Car and Motorbike Hire

If you want maximum freedom to explore the Island’s every nook and cranny between races, car or motorbike hire could be your best option. Available from the airport and ferry terminal, make sure to be mindful of closed roads during the racing.

Motorbike

Bringing your bike on the ferry and using that to explore has to be without doubt the best way to travel around the Island during TT. Don’t forget, sensible riding, and speed limits apply, and if you’re going out for a pint, choose the bus or a taxi home.
